How it works

Cyclopentolate blocks certain nerve signals (muscarinic receptors) in the eye. This:

• Enlarges the pupil (mydriasis).
• Relaxes the muscles that control focusing (cycloplegia).
• Helps the doctor examine the inside of the eye or relieves painful muscle spasms caused by eye inflammation.
