Orphenadrine is a prescription medication used mainly to relieve muscle pain and spasms. It’s often given alongside rest, physical therapy, or other treatments for musculoskeletal conditions.

What it does

Orphenadrine works by:

  • Acting on the central nervous system to reduce muscle spasms
  • Having anticholinergic effects (similar to some antihistamines), which can also contribute to pain relief

Common uses

  • Acute muscle strains or injuries
  • Back or neck pain with muscle spasm
  • Sometimes used as an alternative when other muscle relaxants aren’t suitable
