- How It Works: It is an antacid mixture with a slow, sustained acid-neutralizing action. The magnesium salts and sodium bicarbonate neutralize excess stomach acid chemically. The magnesium trisilicate also forms a silica-based protective gel that coats the stomach lining to prevent further irritation.
