Watch your weight and eat well

Excess weight puts pressure on the joints especially the knees and hips. Losing even a small amount of weight can bring relief. A good diet with vegetables fruits whole grains and lean protein supports the body. Foods like ginger garlic nuts and fish may also help reduce inflammation.

Warm and cold treatment

Warm cloths warm baths or hot water bottles help relax stiff joints. Cold packs help reduce swelling and sharp pain. You can try both and continue with the one that gives you better relief.

Medicines and medical advice

Pain relief medicine can help during painful periods. Health workers may recommend anti inflammatory drugs or ointments. It is important not to take too many medicines without proper advice. Some people also use herbal balms but these should be used carefully. Always tell your doctor about any herbal remedy you use.
