How it works

Glibenclamide belongs to a group of medicines called sulfonylureas. It works by stimulating the pancreas to release more insulin.

Insulin helps:

• Move glucose (sugar) from the blood into the body’s cells
• Lower blood sugar levels
• Improve blood sugar control in people whose pancreas still produces insulin
