How it works

Lipitor (atorvastatin) works in the liver by blocking HMG-CoA reductase, an enzyme needed to make cholesterol.

This leads to:

• ↓ LDL (bad cholesterol)
• ↓ triglycerides
• ↑ HDL (good cholesterol, slightly)
