How it works

1. Cefixime

• Stops bacteria from forming their cell wall
• This causes the bacteria to break and die

2. Clavulanic acid

• Some bacteria produce enzymes (beta-lactamases) that destroy antibiotics
• Clavulanic acid blocks these enzymes

 Result: Cefixime can work effectively even against resistant bacteria
