How it works

Retarpen works by:

• Blocking formation of the bacterial cell wall
• This causes bacteria to become weak and burst (die)

It is called a “depot” or long-acting penicillin, meaning:

• It is injected into muscle
• It slowly releases medicine into the blood for days to weeks
• So one injection can last a long time
