Exforge HCT is a triple-combination prescription medication primarily used to treat essential hypertension (high blood pressure).

Doctors do not usually prescribe this as a first-line therapy. Instead, it is used for:

• Inadequate Control: Patients whose blood pressure is not sufficiently lowered by taking any two of its components (e.g., taking amlodipine/valsartan alone, or valsartan/hydrochlorothiazide alone).

• Pill Burden Reduction: Patients who are already successfully taking amlodipine, valsartan, and hydrochlorothiazide as separate pills, allowing them to switch to a single daily tablet for convenience.
