TRANALION 500

TRANALION 500

  • The Blood Clot Risk: Because this drug promotes clotting, it increases the risk of dangerous blockages. Never take Tranalion if you have a history of blood clots (like deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, or stroke) or if you use combination hormonal birth control pills, which already raise clot risks.
  • Urgent Vision Alert: Stop taking this medication immediately and contact an emergency doctor if you notice any sudden changes in your vision, such as color blindness or blurry sight.
How It Works
Tranalion helps your body retain clots rather than allowing them to dissolve too quickly:
  • Preserves Blood Clots: Normally, when you bleed, your body forms clots to seal the blood vessels. An enzyme called plasmin eventually breaks these clots down.
  • Blocks Breakdown: Tranexamic acid prevents plasmin from dissolving these natural seals. This controls hemorrhage and stabilizes the area to significantly lower total blood loss.
