Piccan syrup works because it contains two active ingredients:

1. Paracetamol (120 mg per 5 mL) – reduces pain and fever. It helps relieve the gum pain and mild fever that can occur during teething.
2. Diphenhydramine (12.5 mg per 5 mL) – an antihistamine that has a calming, mildly sedating effect. It can help reduce irritability and restlessness, making it easier for a teething child to settle and sleep.
