How it works

Esomeprazole:

• Blocks the proton pump (H⁺/K⁺ ATPase) in stomach cells
• This pump is responsible for acid production
• Blocking it greatly reduces stomach acid

Less acid allows:

• Ulcers to heal
• Heartburn symptoms to improve
• The esophagus/stomach lining to recover
