Lactulose is a synthetic sugar that acts as an osmotic laxative. It draws water into the bowel, softening stools and making them easier to pass.
Form: Oral liquid (suspension).
Warning:
- Overuse may cause diarrhea, dehydration, or electrolyte imbalance. Use only as directed.
- May cause mild side effects such as bloating, cramps, or flatulence, especially at the start of treatment.
