  • Name: Cipronol-TN (Ciprofloxacin 500 mg and Tinidazole 600 mg).
  • How It Works: It combines two powerful antimicrobial agents:
    • Ciprofloxacin (a fluoroquinolone antibiotic) kills bacteria by inhibiting enzymes (DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV) essential for their DNA replication and repair.
    • Tinidazole (a nitro-imidazole derivative) works by interfering with the DNA synthesis of bacteria and protozoa, killing them or preventing their growth.
  • Form: Film-coated Tablets.
  • Warning:
    • This is a prescription-only medication and must be used exactly as directed by a doctor.
    • Serious Side Effects: Ciprofloxacin carries a warning for potentially permanent and disabling side effects, including tendon inflammation/rupture and nerve damage. Stop use and contact a doctor immediately if you experience pain, swelling, numbness, or tingling in your limbs.
    • Interactions: Do not take with dairy products (milk, yogurt) or mineral supplements (iron, calcium, zinc) as they significantly reduce absorption. Take this medication at least 2 hours before or 6 hours after these products.
    • Alcohol: Avoid alcohol consumption while taking and for several days after completing treatment with tinidazole, as it may cause severe nausea and vomiting.
    • Pregnancy: Generally avoided during pregnancy; consult a doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
