MEPRASIL

MEPRASIL

  • relief. [1, 2, 3]
Common Side Effects
Meprasil is generally well-tolerated, but some individuals may experience:
  • Headaches
  • Mild abdominal pain or flatulence (gas)
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea or constipation
How It Works
Meprasil works by target-blocking the “proton pumps” (the \(H^{+}/K^{+}\)-ATPase enzyme systems) located in the cells lining your stomach wall. By shutting down these pumps, the medication directly suppresses the final step of gastric acid secretion. This lowers overall stomach acidity, giving injured tissues a chance to heal.
