How it works

Omeprazole irreversibly blocks the proton pumps (H⁺/K⁺-ATPase) in the acid-producing cells (parietal cells) of the stomach. This:

• Decreases stomach acid production.
• Allows ulcers and inflammation to heal.
• Relieves symptoms such as heartburn and acid reflux.
